Children's Shelter of Hope was founded to support the needs of children and families living in the Bay of Banderas (Puerto Vallarta, Mexico).

Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza (RISE) is a non-profit shelter for babies and children under the age of 18 who have been turned over by DIF, a Mexican government social services organization that protects the rights of children.

The Foundation's highest priority at this time is to provide monthly support to cover basic needs and expenses at the Refugio. This includes such things as food, medicine, diapers, electricity, water, internet and TV cable connections, and salaries for Refugio staff members.

While the Shelter provides children with tuition to schools through donations, many of the children are special needs children for whom the schools can offer only a limited accomodation. To help these special needs children the Shelter has engaged an after school teacher who enhances and in some cases does primary teaching with the children. Forix will be funding the annual salary of this teacher, currently Maestra Luz, to work on homework and help special needs children who are having a harder time learning.

The project contributes to the organization's overall mission first by educating and second by providing continued support to improve the lives of the children as well as the community at large.
