FOUR PAWS' LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary
Fourpawsusa.org

© Lions Paws FOUR PAWS rescues animals in need worldwide that are under direct human influence and reduces and ends the suffering of animals with continuing help and medical care. Thousands of big cats live in very poor conditions in circuses, zoos, and private ownership all across the world today. Uncontrolled breeding causes "surplus" animals that either end up dead or traded to unsuitable places.

© Lions Paws FOUR PAWS' LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary Located in Bethlehem, South Africa, this sanctuary sprawls over 3,000 acres of beautiful grasslands, hills and plains, and serves as home to over 100 rescued animals, most of which are big cats saved from war-ravaged zoos, circuses, private ownership, and the canned hunting industry. LIONSROCK has the mission to guarantee ideal keeping conditions in order to make a life free of suffering for every big cat possible. The special care unit helps rescued, traumatized big cats such as leopards, lions, and tigers in need of special care to overcome their traumas and other issues. Rescued animals originate from all over the world. FOUR PAWS took over the property in 2006, with dedication and a lot of structural changes to bring the site up to our standards, over 100 big cats have found a lifelong home at our sanctuary.

© Lions Paws When FOUR PAWS rescues a wild animal from abuse or neglect in captivity, they make a commitment to caring for them for the rest of their lives in species-appropriate sanctuaries. This includes customized nutrition and medical care to fulfill each animal’s specific needs.

This grant will be used to cover the costs of keep and care for two of the rescued big cats at LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary over the course of a calendar year, with an emphasis on supporting 11 newly arrived lions from an urgent rescue from the warzone in Sudan.
